What does the Commission for Foreign Healthcare Graduates [Commissie Buitenslands Gediplomeerden Volksgezondheid] (CBGV) do?

The Commission for Foreign Healthcare Graduates is an independent advisory committee of the Minister of Health, Welfare and Sport (VWS). The CBGV compares the level of professional skill with the level attained at the end of the currently equivalent course in the Netherlands. The criterion used by the CBGV is that the course attended must be equal in terms of content and level to an equivalent course followed/completed in the Netherlands.

If that is not the case the committee checks whether the differences have been compensated by a different course, training and/or work experience. That is why it is important that your information on this is complete. The committee uses this as a basis to advise whether an additional course/extra practical training/professional skill trial is necessary.
