How do I check a statement’s digital certificate of authenticity?

The BIG register provides the following digital statements: Extract BIG register (summary) and a Certificate of Current Professional Status (CCPS). A digital statement is an official document provided with a digital certificate of authenticity that proves that the document is original and has been issued by the BIG register. The statement can only be used digitally, printing will invalidate the document.

A digital statement has the following features: 

  • It is a PDF file and can be opened using Adobe Reader. It is never an image file (png, jpeg, jpg, gif, tiff, psd, and so on).
  • At the top of the document there is a blue bar with the message 'Certified by the BIG register, CIBG, certificate issued by KPN BV PKloverheid Organisatie Services CA – G3'.

The statement can only be used digitally, printing will invalidate the document.

A statement with a valid certificate of authenticity from the BIG register looks like this:
