Userguide: how do I log in and apply for registration?

1. Open a web browser (Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Edge, or Safari).
2. Type https://mijn.bigregister.nl/ in the address bar and press Enter.

Or select the option “Inloggen Mijn BIG-register” on the https://www.bigregister.nl/ website.

Please note, that some web browsers allow you to translate the website into any language you prefer.

You will see 2 different login options:

1. - DigiD (for individuals in the Netherlands)
2. - BIG-Login (for users outside the Netherlands)

Log in with DigiD

1. Click "Inloggen met DigiD". You are now transferred to DigiD
2. Choose one of the available login methods (DigiD app, SMS verification, or username & password).
3. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the login.

Log in with BIG-Login (for international users)

1. Click “BIG-login”.
2. If this is your first time logging in? Then, Please first request your BIG login. Click on “vraag uw BIG-login dan eerst aan”. Complete the menu to activate your BIG login.
3. Enter your BIG-login credentials in the login screen.

After logging in you will see 2 options:

1. Do you have a dutch diploma or a European diploma als doctor/physician, nurse, dentist, midwive or pharmacist?
   Then choose 'BIG-registratie aanvragen'
2. Do you have a EU-diploma for another profession or a non-EU-diploma?
   Then choose 'Erkenning van een buitenlandsdiploma aanvragen'. 

Depending on the procedure that applies to you, you will be asked several questions. You will be asked to provide your personal information and contact details. Here you can also  how you would like to receive notifications about your application.

You will also need to provide information about your professional qualifications, education, and any work experience. 

Supporting documents

Based on your answers will be determined which supporting documents you need to submit with your application. Some supporting documents can be uploaded directly, while others must be submitted by post. Please make sure your documents are certified as needed.

We recommend that you use your webbrowser's translation capabilities or a translation app when completing the questions.

1. Review your application details carefully.
2. Proceed to the payment section (if applicable).
3. Pay using iDEAL or bank transfer.
4. Submit your application and note the 'aanvraagnummer' (confirmation number).
