Preparing the application

STAP 2 - Voorbereiden aanvraag 120x120

Before you start your application, it is important to arrange or prepare a few things.

Improve your Dutch language proficiency

For good and safe care provision it is important that you can speak, read and understand the Dutch language properly. After all, the majority of your future patients will also speak Dutch. Testing Dutch language proficiency is therefore an important part of this procedure. You should wait before submitting your application until you have a sufficient command of the Dutch language at the right level. Various training institutes are offering courses at the right level.

Find out more about the test(s) which you have to take

You can find information on and via this website about the content of the general knowledge and skills test (for all applicants) and the professional test (for nurses, doctors and dentists). Information meetings about the tests are also being organised. You can read more information on the Tests page.

Collect all required documents in advance

Every applicant must submit a variety of obligatory and desirable documents (evidence) with their application. You can find an overview of the documents to be submitted on page 9 of the application form. Make sure that everything is complete before you submit the application. Please contact us if you are in any doubt.

Make sure you have the right translations of the documents

If your documents have been drawn up in a language other than Dutch or English, you must submit both the original or authenticated document in the original language and an original translation. The translation must be made by a sworn translator. If you submit a copy of the translation, you must have it authenticated by the translator or a civil-law notary practising in the Netherlands.
