Preparing the application

STAP 2 - Voorbereiden aanvraag 120x120

Before you start your application, it is important to arrange or prepare a few things.

Improve your Dutch and English language proficiency

For good and safe care provision it is important that you can speak, read and understand the Dutch language properly. After all, the majority of your future patients are Dutch. In addition, it is important for the quality of healthcare to keep up with developments in your field, for example by reading professional literature. Because professional literature is usually in English, mastering English reading skills is therefore also important.

Providing proof of Dutch language skills and English reading skills is an important requirement. Wait with your application until you have sufficient command of the Dutch language and English reading skills at the correct level. When submitting your application, you must submit evidence that you have an appropriate level of command of Dutch and English.

If you are a nurse, doctor or dentist, please familiarize yourself with the professional (BI)test.

Information about the BI test (for nurses, doctors and dentists) can be found on and via this website. You can also attend one of our information meetings to learn more about what to expect when taking the test.

Collect all required evidence documents

For the application, each applicant must submit various mandatory and desired documents (evidence). On this website you will find an overview of the documents to be submitted with an explanation.

Please wait with your application until everything is complete

Please note that requesting documents abroad, for example, can take a lot of time. To prevent your application from being unnecessarily delayed, we advise you to wait with your applications until you have all the documents and any translations at home. This will speed up the processing of your application.

Ensure correct translations and certifications

Many documents must be certified. This is to establish their authenticity. If documents are written in a language other than Dutch or English , you must add both the document in the original language and an original translation. On the page 'certifying and translating' you will find important information and explanations about this.

If you have any doubts or questions about the documents, please contact us or make an appointment for one of our consultation hours .
